Fundamentals

IT is a massive field. Many people will learn a little information about a lot of topics, but only have one or two disciplines they truly understand. This is seen on as Keith’s Law where it states “ most humans can at best understand 1-2 levels of abstraction above/below their home zone. Beyond, you rely on things like metaphor and pop sociology. The goal of this series to is to go the networking basics to provide context to those who may not have a background in networking, and to provide enough substance for those who have been doing this for several years. This was originally prompted by training done at my company for our NOC. I found that too often the NOC was told what knobs to press, but not why certain features were turned on/off.

It is very difficult to explain a feature for a particular SD-WAN vendor to someone, who does not have the same grasp of L1-L3, and this series is intended to do that.
